funny you should mention that, may n mar lady have been house hunting today and spoke to an independant mortgage advisor, he said as first time buyers if we wanted a mortgage worth £100000 in this current climate we'd need at least a fifteen percent deposit before we'd even be looked at , that'd mean selling me van or robbing a bank anyone any other ideas of making money?
Ouch im glad im not a first time buyer ,best of luck Did i hear something about the government are looking to do a shared ownership thingy with first time buyers???That maybe the best option

yadad, yeah ive been looking into that for the last few hours, but as far as i can see its just for 'key workers' which are public sector workers such as police, nhs nurses, teachers etc. and for selected areas only, basically its to encourage people to the areas that have above average house prices where they need public sector workers who otherwise may not be able to afford a property in these areas with the salary that they would earn there......if you know what i mean

id like to know how much i can borrow for 500 quid a month payback on a repayment morgage over 25 years
just thinking some things over
just want an idea - no point in looking at 200k houses if i can only borrow 50k and vise versa?
If you are looking at a 25 year mortgage there is one by Kent Reliance building society. However you must be able to put down a 25% deposit. If you can meet the criteria it 5.98% which is pretty fantastic rate at the moment. The cost to arrange thsi is a grand and you need to pay for valuation fees etc
Apparently is more of an overdraft than a mortgage, and the more you save in the account, the quicker you pay off the mortgage so to speak.
