Re: karman ghia's

I might know a thing or two!

Most repair panels are available to do some of the classic rot spots and although not easy to find, even stuff like doors can be found in fibreglass.

As for the other parts, it'd only be the bonnet and decklid that are 'bolt on' parts. Not sure how easy it would be to blend in some of the other rot / damage areas like wings, nose cone etc.

Not sure if there's much of a market for glass parts other than perhaps for the racers?

Only possibility might be bumpers?

Re: karman ghia's

Not sure if a complete Ghia bodyshell is available as a 'kit car' fit onto a bug pan? The pans are not the same tho on a ghia.

They used to be available, I saw one for sale years ago. I think Wizard used to do them.

Found one!

Re: karman ghia's

the silver 1 on the 2nd "fotos" page looks good n its the shape i most like. the low light is supposed 2 b the 'big dawg' but the ghia after i thinks the nicest with the last style front n small lights at the back. the late ghia started 2 look a bit cheap with the big lights everwhere! down 2 the USA of course! they spoil everything.

i no the floors different but i knew they did 1 for a bug. but as a kit they look good plus, it aint gonna b hard 2 get spares from n they wont cost u a arm n a leg

Re: karman ghia's

with a buget of 2k a kit would be out of reach so i did the next best thing and brought the real mcoy, most kits require a donor vehicle, in the case of the karmann kit, you needed a karmann ghia, all be it rusty

Aly if you look on russ weirs site on facebook he has a build thread on his ghia, using most of the plastic panels available, the blue shiftin' ghia there are 104 pics
Welcome to Facebook | Facebook

As for big lights, i never had a problem, thought it looked cool anyway

I know what you mean, its not 100% is it.
Looks to me like the headlights are slightly higher.

I'd still have one though.
