breakdown services

Who are you with and who you thinks the best. Ive just had a long traumatic year with the AA and im never going back there. After leaving me stranded in Birmingham with a car that potentially could bust into flames and then leaving me on a sodding mountain in the dark for 2 hours, i decided that i wasnt going with the AA ever again.

Ive got 2 cars to be covered, the bug and my corsa plus my bloke. I want to be able to be towed away if i do break down.

Re: breakdown services

Its funny, but I've been royally fucked over by both. I go with one for a few years until they piss me off, then I change.

i had rac's full policy last year.. should have been something like £300 pa but i used tesco club card vouchers and got 75% off, in the end it cost something like £75 worth of vouchers
i can deffo vouch for them as well, i had to call them a few times and only once did i get a numpty.

nowadays im with adrian flux's breakdown service cos its cheaper and they promised me the same cover as RAC but i found that its not within a couple of months

Re: breakdown services

I'm with the AA.

found them no probs.

I had a peugeot 206 daily before (now replaced with a golf!), and the bottom pulley went and was grinding all the way back from brittany to Devon.

I limped the car to father in laws in Devon, and called the AA.

Guy came and and diagnosed the problem.

Said he would fit it if I could get one, which I couldn't as sunday before bank holiday.

cut a long story short, borrowed a car from a mate and left it in Devon all week, called the AA back the following weekend and the same guy came out and fitted the part for me, saved me approx £250!!!!..

massive

Re: breakdown services

I'm with the AA (free with my bank account) but when I first started driving I was with the RAC. RAC are OK if you're in one of their high priority groups, (I wasn't old, female, with kids, etc, but was a young male student, so they probably though 'fuck it, he can wait') but as I wasn't then I always seemed to be at the back of the queue. They never came to me within an hour (usually it was about hour and a half). So got pissed off and joined the AA just in time to get £250 carpet-bagging money! They've been sound ever since, and in fact only rescued me the other day when the ignition switch just randomly packed up on the polo.
