summer treasure hunt and bbq

Anyone interested in helping organise a summer midlands treasure hunt/ barbeque, funds going to clubs/volkstorque/charity whatever?

30-40 points around the midlands/shropshire, visit any 12 over the course of 6 hours, meet up at a central point and have a giant midlands bar b que/camp out?

the only trouble would be finding a free weekend of course...unless it was a saturday optional activity for MAC(h) 6?

some of paula's friends did a similar thing on the Gower, was great fun because nobody had a clue and they split friends who new each other up...

also did the national welsh motorcycle rally way back, did 740 miles in 24 hrs on 3 hrs sleep, finished last check point with 25 mins to spare

thing is you announce the locations (ie town/villages) a week before the event, then people pick their own routes, you hand out the clues for information to collect from each location at the start point along with a list of optional general things to collect along the way.

Awards for finishing all checkpoints (not timed) and extra awards for collecting all the extras.

Gotta be at least 2 teams from each club. I reckon, there's enough scope for a good treasure hunt that will last about 2 hours, around North Shropshire / Wem / Ellesmere / Shawbury / Nesscliffe / Cockshutt / Bomere heath etc etc.
