OKRASA heads? Any info?

Hi all,

firstly Happy new Year!

Now I happened t stumble upon a gent who had a single port 1500cc engine some time ago, after chatting with him he informed me that he had some performance heads and possibly some twin carbs. Obviously I got slightly excited and said "hell yeah".

After collecting thme from him I found that these were OKRASA heads. I then showed a friend who couldnt believe I had got these for free, and realised pretty quickly that this could have been quite a gift.
After trawling the net and finding several uninspiring US websites I still have not found any help on these.

Im in need of new valves etc but the heads have been crack tested and are superb condition wise. Problem being, will they fit my 1500 single port engine? They are twin port and have the manifolds with them.

Any info, history etc on these would be great, will I be able to get standard valves etc to fit? Has anyone had these before?

Cheers for now.

there should be some info on the samba.

Your best bet is to sell them for many £££ and buy a big engine.

very cool find but one for the vintage performance pervs really, the gains on your engine would not make them worth the hassle fitting them to be honest.

what are the carbs? theo deckers?

Unless you are a real retro nut - they are worth more sold than using them yourself. Kinda like Judson !

Maybe £1 to 2K !!!!

I would 1st see about finding a buyer (I know someone in the states who has just turned down a pair at £2.5 K), and then buy yourself a 'new' pair of performance heads.

If you are thinking of selling them - I will pass the details onto you - you may be able to do a deal (I would guess around £1K for a quick sale)

yes! they are usually 4 figures hence the sell em and buy a complete engine!

there are 2 1776 engines on vzi for very reasonable money at the mo!

what exactly are the solex's and what manifolds do they come with? i wouldn't dismiss them just yet! Okrasa did twin port manifolds and carb kits to match which are just as highly prized.
