Question 1303 Full floor pan replacement(alignment)

Hi all,

Just in the process of replacing both floor pans in my 1975 1303 beetle. The Full floor pan on both sides are being replaced. I'm just a little concerned about how much the holes as you get towards the back are out of line by almost an inch. If i were to use the holes in the heater channel to line up the floor i would have to cut away a reasonable chunk where the floor panel meets the and welds to the tunnel (the curvy part). Is this correct as it just seems criminal to cut this part of the floor panel to make it fit but perhaps it is normal.

do you have the right pans? i brought some with 2 point runners to put in mine, thinking i could replace the 3 point pan that was in there, but they are a different shape at the rear on the curve in the tunnel and had to get the right pan (3 point)

As far as i'm aware they are the correct ones but having said that i'm not quite sure what you mean by 2 or 3 point?? I thought there was only one floor pan for the year and model??

I have just looked on the vw heritage web site and confirm that they are the correct ones. (3 point)

You shouldn't really have to trim anything off the inner pan lip.
However, the only way to attach them on the outer edge is to bolt them to your channels so you'll need to cut them to fit (unless youre replacing the channels too)

Drivers side - keep the thick reinforcement bit that the pedals bolt to as this isn't on the repro panels

I've had to trim about that much off every pan I've ever fitted!
