1969 bug and 1303, differences.????

Hi,
Need some parts for my 1969 bug and have got the chance of bumpers, doors, decklid off a 1303 (m reg).
I know that the bonnet and suspension are different but can anyone tell me if the parts are the same and if they will fit.

As far as I know the doors are the same, and so is the bumper apart from certain models fitted with shock absorbing mounts (i.e. U.S. spec).

Machine 7 and Heritage don't list any separate anyway, only pre and post '74 which I think mean indicator slots.

Doors are the same size for any post 68 bug, decklid too.
Bumper will be fine too, although depending on age maybe not the mounts.
Other bits too - door glass, side window glass, poss rear screen, wheels, rear wings, interior panels, pedal cluster, running boards, sunvisors etc

Thanks all for the input.
I was'nt 100% sure myself so thought i'd ask. I will be getting the parts later today and hopefully fitting them when the weather warms up.

rear wings from an 03 will fit but they are a different shape as they meet the body, pretty hard to notice but once you've noticed you'll spot it everytime and of course they have elephants foot indicators...if you like them of course

Sorry but they're not - they are the same as the other wings. The rear quarters are identical on all 68 on bugs apart from the addition of the moon vents and z bar mount in about '71. VW fitted elephant foot wings to the jeans bugs and late model base models as standard. Bad fit is most likely down to poor quality repro wings (one day hopefully someone will produce some decent ones at a fair price).

take a very close look at a 1303 rear wing where it meets the body, from the rear it curves slightly more downward and not flush to the body,I'll try and find some pics for you

the pics I found aren't very good, the difference is in the curve from above the lights downwards and towards the body,it is different but as I said they will fit but there is a difference
