Not only is it not a good look, it's pretty dangerous.

If there's nothing to stop the central suspension leaf locking thing in place (normally a job done by a grub screw) and it's just relying on a poor blog of weld then when that weld fails, the front of the car will just drop right down.

When its off, clean it all up and take a look to see whats going on.

nige, is this beam salvagable do you think? obviously will need closer inspection, if i get it off, do you reckon i could bring it to you to show you it, to get your opinion on what needs doing? cheers, sean
