mk1 golf 1.1 to 1.8 conversion idle faults

its got the standard peirburg 2e2 carb and it idles high 2500rpm when it gets warm. the engines out a mk1 karmann cab and mine has the series 1 fusebox and the cabby had the series2 version so i couldnt use the cabbys engine bay wiring loom so the carb aint wired up (and neither is the manifold heater which i dont think matters). im not sure if its the waxstat or if its not wired up. the three-four point unit dont go all the way in and i wasnt sure if the temp time valve (ttv) controlled that so i put power to it and it cut the engine out. i asked on the mk1 golf forum for a wiring diagram but nothin in over a week can any1 help me out here?

the carb info is here
