I decided a while back that I wanted to get a Karmann Ghia as my next car. So, I figured I'd put the notch up for sale and see how it went. Needless to say it sold after an hour of being on thesamba which was pretty cool.
I figured the ideal car would be a lowlight and after looking for almost 2 months decided that I couldn't actually afford a lowlight that was going to do what I wanted it to (condition wise) so I figured I'd look for an early 60s one seeing as they can be made just as cool as lowlights anyway.
So, after some negotiation and playing the waiting game I picked up my new car today. It's a 1962 RHD Karmann Ghia. It's originally a UK car but has been reshelled because it was properly rotten. The donor shell was imported from the US and converted to RHD (very very well done).
It's been fully restored (although looking underneath there's some chassis bits to give a lick of paint) so its really nice body wise, zero rot and zero surface rust. Just needs a few little bits to make it uber nice.
Anyway.. here's some pics:

Plans are pretty simple. I bought it without an engine so that needs sorting first, 4" - 5" beam, lower the rear, change the wheels for something nice (hopefully detailed fuchs, possibly chromed), get the few little bits of trim sorted, get the bumpers rechromed and sit back and enjoy.
Comments and stuff more than welcome
