thought i would put a thread up bout this as i have had it a while now!

H reg '91 'loon

Chassis
Lowered, 40mm front, 25mm rear, G-Laderseite ARB bushes and a lower front brace bar, poly tca bushes, G40 front calipers, vented discs, passat master cylinder, greenstuff pads, braided hoses. GT/G40 Rear beam with ARB, GT rear drums, newly serviced and bearings done. VW Silverstone (teardrop) 14" wheels, GT steering damper

Engine
1.4 ABD (golf) bottom end, GT top end, ported inlet manifold matched to ported and polished head with profiled valves. Chipped with 8k limiter, G40 manifold and de-cat, nice torquey motor, Original G/box

Other bits

Tinted sides and rear screen, Scirocco front seats, Mk2 GT steering wheel, rev counter clocks, alpine dash speakers, kenwood rears, sub wiring

all done by Ventism on here! (still trying to get my head arround all thats been done!

plans are paint bonnet....

(i know they arnt teardrops but close enough!)

got some lupo sport alloys on way hopefully....
got some phil j lowering springs and shocks to lower it a tad more (though if it changes the handling from awesome to crap will be selling them! lol)
new starter motor
new clutch cable maybe needed soon
ashley (modified) exhaust to go with the manifold i have
gti afm (when exhaust is on)

bit of an update! refurbing the teardrops.... masking takes ages! had to re-do two of them!
these are the 2 that i have so far!

any tips on how to get a good lacquer finish?

yes and to do em more than once took even more! lol really dont wanna mess up the final bits!

thanks, currently having a little tart-up.....

bumpers and plastic arches going black again....
new or fixed sunroof.....
painted new bonnet......
new clutch.......
new lower suspension.....
and the above wheels back on!
