VW to Subaru Conversion Kit For Sale

Almost complete kit ready to install.

Convert your athsmatic VW into a street terroriser

Selling so that I can fund building the race car as it's in no condition to take a motor yet

Comprises of ....
  • Standard Subaru Legacy Quad Cam 2L Turbo engine (240bhp)
  • Adaptor plate and 1 piece billet flywheel (not the dowelled and welded ones with pressed on ring gear)
  • ECU
  • Cut down loom ready to link to the VW harness
  • 5" Autogauge Tacho with adjustable Shift light and recall, Also has inner dials of Water Temp, Oil Temp and Oil Pressure with senders.
  • 52mm Autogauge Smoke series boost gauge (in box)
  • Aluminium Short Sump kit fitted to the engine. Reduces sump height by 50 mm
  • New fuel pump from a BMW (Only used on my previous 2.2 engine)
  • New Aluminium radiator (Only used on my previous 2.2 engine)
  • Fan cowl and Fan for the above rad.
  • Brand new engine gasket set
  • Brand new Turbo mounting gaskets
  • Clarke Rotating Engine stand. Bought and only ever used to hold the scooby



Additional bits you'd need to finish :-
Clutch (Standard bus 210mm)
Fuel hose
Radiator hose
A couple of relays
Some spare time
Exhaust Back Box

All for the grand total of £1700

For a breakdown of parts cost :- (Some prices listed from TSR Dragracers)
Flywheel\adaptor £450 + VAT
Wiring Loom & ECU £350 + VAT
Fuel Pump £100 +VAT
Total £900 + VAT = £1057.50

Turbo mounting Gaskets £35
Engine Gasket set £80
Short Sump £220
New Ally Radiator £80
Fan unit £40
Tacho £120
Boost Gauge £40
Stand £46

Engine between £250-£500

Total = between £1968.50-£2218.50

Cool Cool. And yep. For what I've spent on the bits it's deffo a bargain. For the moment a roll cage is more important to me & at around £1200 for that, the motor has got to go

Was considering building a turbo engine but this sounds more reliable. Are there any mods that need doing to the bodywork & how much work is involved in installing all this & getting it to work?
