Re: Squarebacks?

The carpark @ dubfreeze might be your best bet. Stuff in the for sale area is usually overpriced but there's usually plenty of signs in windows in the car park.
Don't know of any locally i'm afraid.

Desi is a liar and a rip off merchant (as mr self destruct found out the hard way) be extremely careful dealing with him

Re: Squarebacks?

Thanks for the heads up, I think found a running project fastback on the outskirts of cov. No mot/tax at the moment, am going to try and view it/inspect it to see what needs doing, if it looks solid/drives ok, ill pay for an mot and see what needs doing for a pass (only £35 and ill be able to get testers opinion on car), if it doesn't need much then ill buy/repair it, if its a huge amount of work i'll say thanks and walk.

I'll taking a more knowledgeable vw friend, but like me he's not a type 3 expert (he's bus, im beetle).
What issues areas do I look for in a type 3 for damage/rust?

I started doing a buyers guide ages ago but ran out of time, but some pics might be useful:

Where abouts in cov are you? If you fancy a run over to bulkington I can show you what to check for on mine if that'd help

Re: Squarebacks?

wat u afta a early or late style?

i've never delt wid desi jus spoke 2 him n he didnt have wat i wanted cus that part is a be-atch! cheers 4 the heds up! wat happened then?

that notch hes got i dont no if he did it or if he bought it but it was in the v'world for 9k! hes sellin it for around 8k now tho
here it is
VW TYPE 3 & 4 CLUB FORUM :: View topic - 1965s ruby red notchback for sale

but hav a look at this
VW TYPE 3 & 4 CLUB FORUM :: View topic - Slammed Solid Squareback for sale, PRICE DROPPED £2495 ONO

price may seem a bit higher than u was lookin at but parts r a dog to get, n there aint many "mot'd" out there "especially squares!" but the odd 1 may crop up but i rekon £1800 is cheapish but u may get a "lil" repair work (is there such thing on a dub? ha) 4 around 1k but in the end u'll end up swappin enough on it. some part new/new set of rubbers £500 from t3d n they aint easy like a bug!!
