Smile i wanna beetle!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi, im a newbie, who currently is a vw virgin . have wanted a bug for years and now i am finally in a position to afford to buy ( and maintain!!!) one.
ive looked at some real wrecks and spoken to some total bullshit merchants ( im a girl - not a moron!!). i have a tame mechanic (my brother lee) who has a wicked 72 bay so knows his way around a classic vw engine.
if your selling a bug, im not fussy re year, but not mex or too late, and tax exempt is a nice bonus but not essential. i live in the midlands ( Hinckley) but can travel for a good bug
look forward to hearing from u

Hi Nikki, its good to see that you're asking around before buying! I'd say join a local club, as you'll have no problem getting folk to come with you and check a few out. I think Hubba Dubba is your nearest.

Ok, well I have an excel spreadsheet of all the bits and bobs I've replaced when I rebuilt it 3 years back - spent somewhere in the region of 8 grand from what I remember but can get the s/sheet for you if you like.

Engine is 1641, built if 2 years ago - everything brand new. Had the heads ported and it runs really strongly. All components |used were top quality. Has external oil filter, full flow case, twin 40 Kadrons, pertonix II ignitions etc. etc. again will have more details but will need to find them on computer

Inside it has a roll cage, monster tach, oil temp guage, quickshift, 2 cobra bucket seats, 3 point harnesses, wicked sound sytem (massive Inphase amp powering 2 10inch subs, 2 6X9's and 2 front speakers (I have 2 more 6X9's to go in the front just not fitted yet) and header in glove box (also have on old Blaupunkt radio)

Front has been lowered and narrowed (4") with gas ajust shoks all round. Rear is on adjustable swing arms. Wheels are Porsche Fuch replicas.

Bady been partly de-seamed and fully dechromed and boot lid opens on a solenoid (I have a new bot lid to spray and fit that doesnt have the grill in the top). Have got 4 fibreglass wings on order from Day mouldings which I may or maynot fit (9if it sells before I get the wings I wont fit them!!!)

Oh, not far from Stafford (20 mins) more than welcome to come take a look even in its prep state

The bug is a 73 (I have its birth cert) and a cracking car. Only reaons I want to sell it is because I have th opportunity to get an oval which is my dream car - I deally could do with selling it soon before the oval gets sold to someone else.

Will get some pics soon as I can but its being prepped for respray at the mo (to be done for camperjam hopefully)
