Over-running engines

Does anyone elses engine ever keep running when they take they turn the engine off and take the key out?
It happens to me quite often... makes me laugh every time. Once it kept chugging over slowly long enough for me to get the key in the filler cap! Does anyone elses dub do this?
It's like Delboy's Capri if there's any Only Fools geeks out there

it could be dieseling - over heating and running without spark - not good

but yeah - check the shut off valve, maybe just needs a clean

If you can't fix it with a hammer, then it must be an electrical problem.

It did cross my mind that Herbie had somehow become a metallic blue camper van in his old age hehe

I'm not too worried about it because it's done it for the past 4000 miles and it is a recon engine few years ago... the fuel shut off valve sounds about right as I'm running a progressive weber carb which has a suspected choke problem as it takes a good 15 seconds to fire up if I've already had it running the same day... unless that's fuel cut off valve related who knows, well I don't lol
is this shut off valve underneath the air filter on a progressive weber? and can you buy new ones?
