To Twin Carb or Not Twin Carb? That is the question!

Thoughts please. Got a 1500 single port. Someone mentioned to me about putting twin carbs on. No idea.

Would they make much difference on a 1200 single?

Re: To Twin Carb or Not Twin Carb? That is the question!

unless your fitting a big motor twin carbs will only give you small bhp increase, this is bigger on a twin port but still small, unless your minted a pair of carbs wont do much more than increase your fuel consumption, money would be better spent on having a bigger 1774 1914 engine which would recieve the twins happily , an throw you down the road

On a 1500 single port, you will prob be best sticking to a stock carb to be honest. If your after more power, the easiest thing would probrally be to change to a 1600 twin port which would benefit from a pair of 36 DRLAs or 36 IDFs in my opinion. If they are set up properly and you drive sensibly then you should get better mpg and a more power.

1500sp?

Single carb definitely. But out of a Renault 5 gt gtubo with the turbo still attached.

Re: To Twin Carb or Not Twin Carb? That is the question!

i would stick with stock for now, if you want more power go for a twin port 1600 and only then get twin carbs. I know there has been some people on here saying 34 icts arnt any good but i think they are the best thing ive put on my bus. More power and better ecomomy, what more could i want?
