Rust removal and filling help needed plz

Hi all need some local help please, have some rust on my bug on the bit an inch above the front wing and inbetween the bonnet, dont know what its called but there are a few bits that do need sorting.
To cut out and weld in new panels etc i know im talking hundreds, what i need are tips on sanding back and filling etc and then as long as a good base i can sort out the colour.

Does anyone know anyone who would do this for me cheap as possible?
or is it really that easy to do that i can do it myself? I can sand back ok im sure, im pretty handy to rust proof over and then filler, do you need and power tools or can the filler be smothed by hand etc?

Just wanna get started or get it done, feelin the pinch at the moment as trying to sell house move etc. i know its only gonna get worse as well

anyone help?
will try and post pictures if anyone can help or il just email if easier.

cheers
steve

Steve, get along to the BC/DC meet tomorrow if you can and I'll have a look. Without seeing it's difficult to advise.

it isnt too difficult, can just be a bit frustrating and time consuming.....if its a small area you dont need power tools, but a DA is great

just make sure you've put hardener in the filler and let it go off.....when mixing try and get all the bubbles out as these have a habit of re-appearing in what you thought was a nice smooth surface!

try and get the centre of the repair/filler lower than the rest as its easier to make this up with paint rather than it being too high.

then paint a rough guidecoat over so it looks like fleck paint to see how it looks, flat back and start with primers!

see...piece of piss

Not really much difference.
Only if you start using fibre glass fillers etc.

1.take the section back to bare metal.
2.rust treat
3.wipe some paint thinners on to remove dirt oil etc
4.spray with self etching primer
5.maybe spray with normal primer
6. put on some filler normally 2:100 ratio of hardner
7.sand
8.prime again
9. check levels
10.put proper paint on
11 few coats or laquer
