Grrrr help :)

My drivers side bearing has gone, taking the oil seal with it. or the other way around, either way i cant get the bearing out, anyone got a handy tool for doing this??? I had trouble before when building the car, and think it might not have been greatly put it. lol
been having a sort of grindy sound from that side for a while, and have just ignored it. bit the bullet today and bought the bearing and oil seal, took the drum off etc, just cant get the damn bearing out.
HELP

Please.

I had the exact same problem. Worked at it for 3 hours until my mate came round, got an old screwdriver and a blowtorch and heated it up and bent it back on itself. Had it out in 5 mins.

Could have hugged him and murdered him at the same time.

Yeah.. as in bend it into a "U" shape. You can then hook it behind the bearing and pull it out.

Got you, all becomes clear,. interesting. will have a go at that i think
Last time we tried using a bearings puller but it wouldnt grab it so it was a grinder to notch the bearing and prise it out job, very messy.

if you have access to a welder rather than grind a notch just add a bit of weld.

Took two hours, but got the bearing off fairly easily with some pry bars and some gentle pursuasion. all done, got to wait until tomorrow to top up my gearbox oil and make sure its not leaking still. fingers crossed. on the plus side my breaks feel better even thought the fluid needs topping up.
