My '71 Early Bay Resto .

Looks like the Bay will be started soon now , will be keeping you updated with progress as and when some rusty bits come off and some solid bits go on etc, etc .

Just to remind you this is " The Camper with no name " as He / She stands at the moment . Been wondering why i can't think of a name yet

I definetley think He's a boy camper , Fionas mates chap Rob used to work for a company that did VW restos exclusively , so i Know it's going to be a good job , just don't know how long it's going to take as he now runs his own business and this is going to be an " as and when he has time " job

Going shopping for bits at Bustypes

belly pans

The Belly Pans are coming off today , fingers crossed the rot isn't too bad when they do ,got a feeling my shopping list is going to get a little longer Hey Ho

Oh yes , the current thinking on the paint is now white with red flowers , and not pink with yellow and white dasies , as was first thought , however , this is likely to change , probably

Oh yes , another thing , don't know who will be doing the main parts of the resto now , going to get a couple of people to give me an idea of price , then when i pick myself up off the floor , i will most likely go to Plan B , probably

A dangerous tool in the wrong hands

Belly Pans

Well , started to take off the belly pans tonight , first bit of good news is , they are so rotten that i don't have to put them back on again

Then again i could probably eek out a couple of mph out of the old girl without them .

Looks like all the inner and outer sills have got to be replaced , oh yes , and found some rolled up paper nestling under the filler , bonus

Front jacking points are fubarred , but most of the floor is in pretty good nick . Bottom of the A frames are going to need some attention , and the b frame on the drivers side is buggered , hope you are understanding all the technical terms

That's about all for now , I could go on , as the list of things to do is nowhere near covered by the above

More to follow
