Stunning 67 resto cal bug

OK the time has come to finally say good bye to my 1967 resto cal bug Most of you will know it but for those that don't here are the details. Its a RHD 1967 (one year only model) on a 'D' plate (very early 67 model) I have owned it for the last 12 years and restored it from what was a bit of a sorry looking stocker to a very solid resto cal looker. It has had virtually new everything over the years, I don't really know where to start but here goes. Starting with body and chassis its had the following:
New channels (both sides)
New frame head (professionally jigged)
New front floors
New central chassis support
New bulkhead
New battery tray
New complete rear quarter (drivers side)
New inner rear wing and lower quarter (passenger side)
New front inner wings (both sides)
New spare wheel well - original californian rust free item (no dodgy fitting repro)
New wings all round (day mouldings fronts, steel rears)
New rear light housings
New californian long bonnet
Petrol tank bare metalled and detailed in gloss black

All chassis panels were bare metalled and coated in 2 coats of etch primer before being top coated in black smoothrite (before fitting) After being welded in place they were then given another coat on top and extra around welds etc. All body panels were bare metalled then etch primed then top coated with body colour paint.

OK now on to the mechanical side of things
New adjustable front beam (bare metalled and coated in etch primer and then black smoothrite)
New master cylinder
New brake drums all round
Replacement 1300 gearbox
Brand spanking new 1600 engine (supplied by VW of Mexico) Which after 12 months of use I decided wasn't powerful enough so I had Kingfisher Kustoms rebuild it to the following spec
New standard barrels and pistons (instead of the low compression mexican ones!)
New 041 Big valve heads (with 39 x 35.5 stainless steel valves)
New Heavy duty valve springs
New Engle 100 cam
New bugpack balanced con rods
New Shadek larger oil pump
Fully flowed case fitted with Fram HP1 filter (for improved oil filtration and cooling)
New bolt up rocker shaft assemblies
Twin 36 Dellorto DRLA carbs (re-jetted to suit) with new swivel linkage
New fan housing
New genuine VW cylinder head shrouds
New 009 dizzy
New blue Coil
New taylor HD leads
New heat exchangers
Hide away 4 into 1 exhaust system
etc...

This engine is absolutely fantastic fun and makes the car very driveable indeed. It is producing about 90 bhp and 115 ft Ibs torque!

The car can also be provided with a stock rebuilt 1300 or 1600 engine for less money

Externally the car has had the following fitted:

Set of 4 new polished empi 5 spokes complete with set of conti eco contact tyres (smart car front tyres for clearance)
New genuine VW complete headlight units
Stainless steel blade bumpers
New best quality running boards
New window rubbers all round
New Koch horn grilles
New windscreen wipers

Internally the car has had the following:
New headliner fitted (by kingfisher Kustoms)
New carpet set
New stereo, amp, and speakers (price negotiable if excluded)
New chrome plated gearstick

The only bad bits are The drivers seat has a couple of rips in it and that the roof could do with repainting if your really fussy (still looks very presentable as is really)

The car has been painted in two tone Blue and White and is a fantastic looker imho. If you are looking for a nice early bug that needs nothing and thats super solid but can be used every day then this is the car for you. Its obviously tax exempt and has just had 12 months M.O.T put on it with no problems what so ever. I'm looking for £3500 ono with a stock 1300 or 1600 fitted and £4250 ono with the motor detailed above. More pics available if seriously interested let me know by pm or call me in the evenings on either 07815 902764 or 01952 613191

Tim

Thanks Purple, I think you should get Stov to lend you some dollars so you can buy it. I'd love it if she went to someone who I knew would care for her the way I have.

I know mate, I can't either. I've just sort of reached the point where I fancy a change, its been my only car since passing my test. If I had enough money and space to park another car I'd be keeping it but I haven't sadly. Then again if it doesn't sell I won't be too bothered cos I'll still have a really nice bug.
