Hi Everyone..

Here we have a VW Mk1 Jetta which has been brought back from a potential Scrap vehical. I found this neglected but with a lot of patiants and care it’s now a little gem of a car. The Drive is super straight with no knocking or clonking the mechanics are perfect on it with a huge amount of work undertaken..

Car History: I have reciepts and some VW Service reciepts I also have all original manuals and sale sheet etc. It seems the clock stopped working (which is common) at 53K but with current services history suggests it’s around 58 – 60K and the state of the engine and the way it runs also backs this up. It seemed the previous owner had the car for a year or so before loosing interest once MOT Expired and was just left in the garage until it was purchased.

What Was Done: The car was pretty much stripped back to it’s bare bones and rebuilt. As a rolling shell it was very solid apart from a few rot issue’s on the axel/ rear arch area which were all patched up. All the braking system was pulled out and rebuilt with new hoses and copper piping, the engine itself was fine so just had a service with all the ness bits with a quick tune on the carb etc. It had a full exhaust system as the old one was shot, all suspension was sorted with top mounts on coilovers and then lots of little jobs to round the job off for an MOT fly through.
It has a set of Schmidt revolutions which are now Very rare and a full set of falken tyres, inside isn’t bad at all and has just had a deep clean and valet the only thing is a small cig burn on the passenger seat which looks like it’s been there for a good while. The boot area has no rot or damage and is very tidy it also still has the original spare wheel which has never been used.

What Can Be Done Further: The body work is not concourse and it does have a few minor dents however the bonnet needs resparying and the tops of the wings where laqure has stated to peel back. By no means it’s not awful, but not concourse. I thought it better to leave in its current state so the buyer could decide either to repair or go for a full re-spray. I have a very very good body shop (innovation body worx) who can do the work which I could arrange, I have a good quote for a repair which I would be able to push with the sale or respray if required. , with this body work defect in mind means it has been reflected in the sale price.

Overall:
This really is a fantastic car, turns heads where ever it goes and a real opportunity for someone to own a classic which was rare to begin with and now getting rarer and rarer as time goes on. It drives superb and handles extremely well. The only let down is it will need some body work, with this aside the first to see it will buy it.
