Metallic mid blue,

120k miles

Looking to sell at the end of May 2010

Good Bits:

Chassis
Lowered, 40mm front, 25mm rear, G-Laderseite ARB bushes and a lower front brace bar, poly tca bushes, G40 front calipers, vented discs, passat master cylinder, greenstuff pads, braided hoses. GT/G40 Rear beam with ARB, GT rear drums, newly serviced and bearings done. VW Silverstone (teardrop) 14" wheels, Federal front tyres, pirelli rears, got life in em. GT steering damper

Engine
1.4 ABD (golf) bottom end, GT top end, ported inlet manifold matched to ported and polished head with profiled valves. Chipped with 8k limiter, G40 manifold and de-cat, nice torquey motor, @6k since conv., no leaks or owt. Original G/box for decent motorway cruising. Had a new alternator in feburary.

Other bits

Tinted sides and rear screen, Scirocco front seats in good nick, Mk2 GT steering wheel, rev counter clocks, alpine dash speakers, kenwood rears, sub wiring, no stereo or amp/sub though. Bodyworks straight and solid, not pristine, but its an 18 year old daily so its as you would expect. Huge boot with fixed rear seats, bulkhead means its the best braced polo model and you can go wild with an install if you so desire.

Included in sale

Good condition black Corrado rear bench, needs a little work to fit, spare starter motor, injector rail, Ashley 4 branch manifold (not stainless), modified airbox lid for Golf GTI 8valve AFM, two GT steering wheels, heated washers from audi, various bits and bats. Spare doorhandle for original key from de-locked passenger side. Boot light from audi.

Bad Bits:

Offside front wheel bearing needs doing, probably got another 1 or 2k miles left, but it rumbles.

Brake pads rattle, not a problem, just sounds pikey.

Needs turning over twice to start, dunno why, 5 minutes and all is dandy.

Exhaust blowing, needs looking at but probably not replacing.

Bodywork mostly cool, but its got a (genuine vw) replacement bonnet in shipping primer, a couple of trolley dings in the swage lines and a hole under the back bumper, not visible - rust treated and covered with duct tape. I think its had a repair on the offside back corner in the past by the looks and thats where the problems stemmed from. Bit of rust inside boot area under rear screen (treated), drivers door rusty underneath. None of it structural or serious.

Dealer fit sunroof, leaky so sealed up with duct tape.

Slow flat on offside back tire, got a nail in it, has had for about 2 years now...

I'll be gutted to see this car go, its pretty close to finished as an OEM+ sleeper, a decent exhaust and GTI AFM will see it the right side of 85 bhp and 95 ft/lb. But things change and i need something a bit more boring. It handles well, not nice to park but it sits flat throught the bends and can hustle along with much "better" cars. Its pretty rare, Ive seen one in the same colour since I bought it 5 years ago. Cheap tax, light on fuel and a boot you could fit two dead bodies in with some hammer work.

It does need a bit of finishing off looks wise, but its a perfectly usable, reliable and unusual car with ticket till feburary and tax till october.

Im looking for £700 ono

No way!

Can't believe he's selling this after all the work thats been put in! This will be an amazing bargain for the new owner, I've been out in this car and couldn't believe how well it cornered! very torquey for a small motor too! Absolutely love it. Would have considered it myself had I not just bought a new daily.

Best of luck with the sale fella
