newbie here

hi guys, im markymark from south manchester

just picked up my t4 the other week, but having a few problems, the guy i bought it off had put petrol in the tank and tried to start it.

ive emptied the fuel tank, blown out the lines and replaced the filter.

i got it started yesterday but as soon as it starts it revs its tits off, so i shut it off straight away, had a play around with the idle control etc and tried again to do the same thing

is my diesel pump knackered or is it something else

cheers

Welcome to the world of Volkswagen!

Off the top of my head, the fuel pump timing can cause erratic running like that. However, for the best info, have you tried www.vwt4forum.co.uk ?
Loads of helpful folks on there, the only bummer is it costs £10 per year to join. Otherwise, try www.busgoons.com , good and free!

Yeah, the tech section is great unless you want serious answers!

Hmm.... Have you paid your tenner?
They tend not to like technical questions in the general chat areas, especially from non-paying users.

I have a T4, but am by no means an expert.
But for what its worth, try asking on busgoons.
