Re: A pic a day for 2010

after a whole year of 'shooting' . I have got a couple of film cameras. you learn fast from film ..
your final image... is in the view finder !

It's really difficult to get that with digital .. but real easy when it's pay per click !

going well so far I liked the tree / snow one yesterday :-)

and , you can 'shop' the spire on this one if it really bothered you .

I did think about 'shopping' it but just thought 'sod it!'
Would love to go back and try some films again! Really wish I'd kept my old Olympus OM30 and lenses and filters! I've got about 3000 pics on old format in boxes here from when I used to use the Olympus and originally took up photography at the age of 15. The only downside was the waiting to get them developed! Used to take them to a small shop in Wellington that were very good and also still did B&W as well, but that must have been nearly 25 years ago now!

Re: A pic a day for 2010

B&W you can do at home without a dark room (colour too with a bit more effort)

Neg scanner £30

you can be loading pics up an hour after getting home from a shoot dead cheap too !

I've also bought an enlarger off of ebay for £25, so with a 'dark' room (doesn't have to be a dedicated 'dark room' ) I can print on paper too.

I can be uploading them within 5 minutes with a DSLR though!
It's almost Old Skool but using a neg scanner is almost cheating a bit! Ya may as well just go the whole hog and keep it digital if you're gonna be doing that!

yep, but that was almost 2 decades ago now!!
Although it was a lot less of a wait than waiting for the postie to drop off you pictures back from Truprint!!

anyway, todays offering.

Well, managed to get a picture of our resident 'pet' Robin.

Got a feeling he's a tad camera shy though!
